Under this scheme, farmers in Gujarat can avail themselves of financial assistance to construct water tanks on their agricultural land. The assistance is provided in two formats:
- Individual Assistance: Farmers can receive 50% of the assistance cost or up to Rs. 9.80 lakhs, whichever is lower, directly into their bank accounts. The scheme stipulates that a minimum of 75 cubic meter water tanks must be constructed. Additionally, for smaller tanks, a standard unit cost of Rs. 19.60 lakhs is set, with assistance provided on a pro-rata basis.
- Collective Group Assistance: In cases where farmers opt for collective construction, 50% of the support cost or Rs. 9.80 lakhs, whichever is lesser, is disbursed to the group leader’s account as decided by the group. Similar to individual assistance, a minimum requirement of 75 cubic meter water tanks applies.

Eligibility criteria for the scheme include:
- Beneficiaries must be farmers from Gujarat state.
- Farmers should possess supporting evidence of agricultural land, including relevant documentation like Aadhaar card, 7/12 excerpts, and ration card.
- Those residing in tribal or forest areas need to provide proof of Tribal Land Forest Rights.
- Applicants must be registered on the ikhedut portal to apply online.
